Community Infrastructure Levy

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a planning charge that Local Planning Authorities and the Mayor of London can set on new development to help pay for community infrastructure. It is intended to offer transparency, consistency and fairness for all developers and local authorities, whilst keeping a balance between the cost of funding infrastructure and the viability of development.
