Give us your views and we will take them into account when considering a planning application. We want to hear from neighbours and other affected people whether you support or oppose the application.
To make sure your views are not misinterpreted we can only accept comments in writing. To make a comment, search for the planning application and then use the comment’ option. You can also email or post comments to us, make sure you quote the application reference number.
If you give us your email address we will acknowledge your comments.
Your comments about a planning application are shown online. Personal information such as telephone numbers, email addresses and other sensitive personal information within the comment will be removed, but names and addresses will be shown.
What we do with your comments
Your comments are always considered before we make a final decision. Everyone that has made a written comment will be told about the decision within ten days of it being made.
A planning officer will consider your comments and then write a report. This includes a summary of all comments received and a recommendation about the application.
In most cases, a planning manager with the authority to make a decision then considers the report and makes the final decision.
A committee can decide an application. The Committee considers officers report with your comments along with the other planning issues relating to the case. The Committee are not bound by the planning officer’s recommendation. If you would like to speak at the committee please state this when you submit your comments, we will advise you the date and time of the meeting.
