Barnet Economic Development Framework 2025-2030
Skip to:
Barnet is home to thousands of small businesses, a world-class university and a multi-campus college and major regeneration schemes like Brent Cross Town, Dollis Valley, West Hendon and Colindale station. Together, these assets make Barnet one of London’s most dynamic and diverse boroughs, a place of opportunity, innovation and growth.
Barnet Economic Development Framework 2025-30 sets out how we will use Barnet’s strengths to create an inclusive, sustainable economy that benefits everyone.
Our vision
Barnet is recognised as a destination for investment and growing businesses, with an inclusive economy that benefits everyone.
Our priorities
The framework focuses on six key themes that will drive delivery:
- Securing investment to benefit all: attracting more investment in Barnet’s priority places and ensuring it benefits local communities.
- Supporting our priority sectors to grow: helping Barnet’s fastest-growing and highest-potential sectors, such as creative industries, digital technology, health and social care, and construction, to innovate and thrive.
- Building a workforce to succeed: creating clear pathways for residents to gain the skills, qualifications and confidence they need to succeed in work or start a business.
- Creating growing places to thrive: fulfilling the potential of our town centres and regeneration areas so that they are able to play their part in contributing to the borough’s success.
- Boosting our green economy to work towards net zero: supporting businesses to become more sustainable, reduce costs, and encourage the development of green skills in the local workforce.
- Growth for everyone: making sure growth is inclusive by breaking down barriers to work and opportunity for those furthest from the labour market.
