Adoption & Post Permanence Support privacy notice

The Adoption and Post Permanence Team are responsible for the recruitment, training and assessment of prospective adopters, and following approval, identifying an appropriate match with a child or children. This may involve placing the adopter’s profile on a family finding website which is accessible to local authorities nationwide.

The council is a member of Adoption North London, a partnership of six local authority adoption agencies of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey and Islington. These councils share information to identify and arrange the best match between adopters and children.

The team also provides an intermediary service for former adopted children and relatives affected by adoption who live in Barnet, regardless of which authority placed them for adoption.

The team can provide support to adopters and the children in their care.  Adopters are invited to join a mailing list held by the department so that they can be informed of training and social events which may be of interest to them.
