In the lead up to Holocaust Memorial Day, Barnet Council will be sharing a number of incredible stories as part of an exhibition throughout the borough.
The exhibition, which will focus on Yad Vashem, is a dedication to Holocaust remembrance, documentation, research and education that seeks to meaningfully share the legacy of the Shoah for generations to come.
Its mission is to document the remaining survivor testimonies, and through digital technology, keep the memories alive for the world to remember and learn from this unprecedented genocide.
Mayor of Barnet Council, Councillor Brian Salinger, said: “The Holocaust had such a significant impact on the world and this exhibition will help tell some of the incredible and under-reported stories of brave Muslims, honoured by Yad Vashem as Righteous Amongst the Nations, who rescued Jews during the Holocaust.
“In Barnet, we are proud to have a large Jewish population and I encourage everyone to come along and look through the exhibition on display.”
The exhibition, which features 10 pull-up banners giving a personal and moving account of some of the stories from the time of the Holocaust, will be on display at Chipping Barnet Library from 12-17 January and then at Hendon Town Hall from 18-21 January.

Holocaust Memorial Day will be commemorated in Barnet on Sunday 28 January 2018 at 1pm, in the Rickett Quadrangle of Middlesex University.
