Recycling
With the amount of rubbish we throw away steadily rising and the amount of landfill space, where this rubbish is disposed of, steadily falling, it has never been more important to reduce, reuse and recycle.
The more waste that we dispose of, the more we have to pay. So, by cutting down on waste we will save money as well as help the environment.
So please try to reduce, reuse and recycle as much of your waste as you can using the services listed below.
Watch Your Waste Week Challenge 2009
Well done to St. Vincent's RC Primary School who managed to reduce their waste by 50% during the week. This was done by setting up food waste collections to put into the green bin, utilising the recycling facilities to their maximum potential and practising the 3Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle. Woodhouse Sixth Form College and a number of residents also managed to reduce their waste during the week so well done to all those who took part.
