At Barnet Register Office we have records of births, death and marriages from 1837 and civil partnerships since 2004.
You can buy a copy of a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificate registered in Barnet from the register office.
What information you need to give us to order a certificate
- first name and surname of people involved (if it relates to a marriage or civil partnership include both partners and any maiden name)
- where the event took place
- date of the event
Charges for copy or replacement certificates
Certificates cost £11 and are posted within 15 working days. You can add recorded delivery for an additional £7.80
You can apply for a priority certificate which costs £35.
The priority certificate will be available for collection from Hendon Town Hall, 24 hours after the request has been made. Requests made over weekends or Bank Holidays will be available for collection from 3pm the next working day.

We only hold records for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that occurred in Barnet.

When you will receive your certificate
We aim to send out your certificate within 15 working days of receiving your application and payment.
