Creative Communities is a Barnet Council initiative, led by the Library Service to deliver a programme of free events, activities, and experiences specifically for the residents of Colindale. A wide range of exciting events are being planned and delivered for children, teens and adults.

Gadgeteers Drama workshop with Freshwater Theatre

Freshwater Theatre Company presents an interactive and engaging drama workshop to tie into this year's Summer Reading Challenge theme: The Gadgeteers! Using a mix of drama games and role-play, you will meet our scientist-inventor who wants to share their science machine with the Gadgeteers. But oh no! The machine is broken! They will need your help and enthusiasm for scientific discovery to fix the machine and show it off.

Foosball Challenge 

If you're taking part in the summer reading challenge, why not try another challenge by joining our table-football competition. It's fun, fast and anyone can take part!

Create a STEM story with Ozobot

Using coding, robotics, LEGO and the power of our imaginations, we’ll create our very own STEM story.

Our main character is a clever line-following robot called ‘Ozobot’ - who can play any role we wish! In this workshop we’ll create our own narrative, create the setting by drawing and building with LEGO, then code our Ozobot to follow the story.

Mental Wellbeing Art Workshop

Saturday 10 September 11am to 12.30pm

Mental well-being is so important to our everyday lives and art has proven to be an effective media in helping us achieve and maintain a healthier state of mental wellness. Join Esperanza Walsh, a local artist, in a relaxing wellness journey through art. The workshop is open to all adults and will have three short activities involving drawing and painting aimed at harnessing the power of art to create a relaxing and refreshing experience. All materials to be used during the workshop will be provided.

Age guidance: 18+

Tai Chi for over 55s

Tuesday 4 October, 2pm to 3pm

Join Barnet Age UK’s low-impact class based on balance and strength. The instructor will lead you in some gentle exercise benefiting physical and mental health.

Over 55s

Cello Performance and Masterclass with Oliver Gledhill

Tuesday 29 November 2022, 6pm to 7.30pm

Oliver performs Bach Suite No.6 in D, BWV 1012, a pinnacle of the cello repertoire, followed by a Masterclass which explores how to create the meanings, gestures and emotions of everyday life through the recreation of composers’ imaginative ideas.

Age guidance: 8+.
