Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion
About the ULEZ expansion
The Mayor of London will be expanding the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) from its current boundary along the North Circular to cover the whole borough from 29 August 2023.
This will help improve London's air quality.

How the ULEZ expansion will affect Barnet
If you drive anywhere within the ULEZ, including the expanded area from 29 August 2023, and your vehicle does not meet the emissions standards, you could face a daily charge of £12.50.
This includes people living in the ULEZ. However, you don't need to pay the ULEZ charge if you are parked inside the zone and don't drive.

Discounts and exemptions
Some drivers and vehicles qualify for at least a temporary 100% discount from the ULEZ. Others are entirely exempt.
The Mayor of London has launched a new scrappage scheme to help eligible Londoners to prepare for the ULEZ expansion.
People on some low income or disability benefits can get help scrapping polluting cars, motorcycles and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
If you can't access the scrappage scheme
TfL has also secured a range of deals which can help you to save money and use greener, cleaner forms of transport.
