Winter family support
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives in many ways. It has caused disruption to family life, work, school and the way we access support services.
We have produced a leaflet to help guide you through the advice and support available to families at this difficult time of year.

COVID-19 Winter Grant Scheme
The government has provided local authorities across England with funding to help support families with food and heating costs. The fund is to help those who are experiencing financial hardship due to the impact of COVID-19
Barnet Council is working in partnership with the Young Barnet Foundation to bring you the government funded COVID-19 Winter Grant Scheme
If you are experiencing financial hardship because of the impact of COVID-19, speak to one of the following who will be able to make an application for you to access the scheme:
- your child’s school or Children’s Centre
- a Health Visitor
- any other social care or health professional.
Our Welfare Rights Advisors are on hand to help with any housing and benefits claims you may have.
The advisors will make sure families are receiving support and can offer help with any applications you need to make.
In addition we are supporting local food banks so families and individuals can receive help with food.
