Barnet Libraries in collaboration with The Reading Agency are excited to announce the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge: Marvellous Makers!
Developed in partnership with Create, this year’s challenge aims to fire up children’s imaginations and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.
Marvellous Makers challenge details
From July to September, children taking part in ‘Marvellous Makers’ can discover amazing stories and explore their creativity by joining in with fun activities at the library.
Children aged 4 to 12 can sign up at any Barnet library from Saturday 6 July and throughout the summer holidays. They will need to borrow and read 6 books from the library to participate in the challenge. Children can read any books they like – from chapter books, comics or even information books. They can also read eBooks on our Libby app or listen to eAudiobooks on the BorrowBox app.
During staffed opening times at the library, children can collect stickers on their reading journey. When they complete the challenge, they will receive a special certificate, medal and they will be entered into a special prize draw.
Sign up for the libraries’ newsletter for families for weekly updates on activities and events for children of all ages.
