Emerging Talent Programme
Barnet Council is supporting independent built environment network Future of London, on its exciting new employment opportunity for London’s ethnic minority communities, to help launch careers in housing, regeneration and development.
The Emerging Talent Programme, which aims to help make sure that those shaping London’s future are as diverse as the city itself, takes place over 21 months from January 2022 to October 2023, through three paid placements in different employers. It is designed to support recruits starting their career but is also open to anyone who is looking to change their career direction. It may be that you have some level of work or volunteering experience and/or qualifications at a Higher or Degree level, related to housing, regeneration and development. However, it is more important that you can show you are comfortable with working in a team and behaving professionally with everyone you come across.
Programme candidates will gain leadership skills, technical and professional experience and contacts from different organisations and sectors, gaining exposure and access to a vast array of careers. The housing and regeneration sector offers a huge and exciting variety of professional careers in a range of different organisations. These include roles such as Regeneration Project Managers, Housing Officers, Development Managers, Procurement Managers, Planning Consultants, Town Planners, Communications and Marketing Managers, Community Engagement Officers, Policy Officers….to name but a few.

More diversity in the housing, regeneration and development sector will bring fresh perspectives and new thinking, delivering better places for our growing communities.”
