Following the tragic events in Pokhara, Nepal, the worshipful Mayor of Barnet Cllr Alison Moore has written to the Mayor of the city twinned with Barnet. As a mark of respect, the borough flag flying outside of Hendon Town Hall is flying at half-mast.

Dear Mayor,

It was a tremendous shock to learn of the tragic air crash in Pokhara on Sunday 15th January.

I send to you my deepest condolences, together with the sympathies of the council and residents of the London Borough of Barnet.

Our thoughts are with the families of loved ones lost and those affected by this tragedy and pray that you and they will have the strength to get through this very difficult time.

Please be assured your friends from your twin town of the London Borough of Barnet feel your sadness and stand by your side.

Yours most sincerely,

Councillor Alison Moore

The Worshipful the Mayor of Barnet
