Retreat: the UK’s first climate refugees

‘Retreat' is an exhibition of artwork and research surrounding the village of Fairbourne, North Wales. In 2021, government officials declared that by 2052, it would no longer be safe or sustainable to live in Fairbourne due to rising sea levels, making the residents the UK's first climate refugees. This exhibition comprises a collaboration between artist Georgia Clemson and Landscape Architect Daniel Shaw.

We are plants, we are grass, we are Hackney Marshes is an immersive audio-visual installation that takes you on a journey of being landscape through the embodied eyes of filmmaker Dominique Rivoal and the sensing body of movement artist Claire Loussouarn. It invites to slow down and attune our sensate bodies and felt sense to the incredible spectacle of nature.

Reimagining our High Streets exhibition

An exhibition of Middlesex University MA Interior’s work, that reimagines the opportunities of existing buildings for sustainable redevelopment. Marks and Spencer Marble Arch flagship store, on Oxford Street, has become central to the debate around adaptive reuse and retrofitting our existing buildings. Rather than demolishing and building anew, the work on display looks at alternatives. The student proposals explore minimising the carbon emission impact when re-imagining our high streets.

Barnet and Beyond! 'NetWalking' for a Zero Carbon Future, Together

Frances Fogel is a local resident and a carbon-literacy-qualified Art Historian, community host and Story Strategist. Frances is hosting a free "NetWalking" event for fellow Barnet residents, who will be comfortable taking a two hour walk. The walk will commence at 10:30am outside "picturesque" Kenwood House and will focus on tackling Climate Change through an art history lens. It will end near to Wildwood Road, with relatively easy access to Golders Green station (the group might pick up a bit of litter along the way, so please do bring a little bag).
