Column from the Leader - Mutual aid

Last updated: 19 November, 2018

Our number one priority throughout this process has always been about ensuring that residents are safe in their homes. The way people rallied around to help the residents of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in their time of need showed how Londoners show such indomitable spirit in times of crisis. This extends to support between London Councils. We have a robust and strong resilience network in the Capital that offers assistance between boroughs when they need it most. The Grenfell Tower fire was no exception in that respect.

The ceremony on 1st July, will be attended by the Worshipful the Mayor of Barnet, Reuben Thompstone, Deputy Lieutenant Martin Russell, councillors and civic guests, ex-servicemen and women and 13 cadet force units from the Sea, Army and Air cadets in the borough. The annual ceremony will recognise and pay tribute to both past and current members of the armed forces and their families.
